Q1. In 1950 – 51,the contribution of primary sector,
secondary sector and tertiary
sector to India’s national income was
49%, 16.7% and 34.3% respectively. In 2011-12 these shares were 13.5% ,28.5%
and 58% resp. Present this information in the form of a table.
Q2. Present the following in a suitable table:
In 2001, out of
total of 1,750 workers of a factory 1200 workers were members of a trade union
The no. of women employed
was 200 of which 175 did not belong to a trade union. In 2002 the no. of union
workers increased to 1580 of which 1290 were men. On the other hand the no. of
non-unions workers fell down to 208 of which 180 were men. In 2005, there were
1800 employees who belonged to a trade union and 50 who did not belong to a
trade union. Of all the employees in 2005, 300 were women of whom only 8 did
not belong to a trade union.
Q3. According to the census of India, population of India in
2001 was 102cr. Of which the no. of males and females were 53cr and 49cr resp.
74cr people were residing in rural areas and only 28cr people were living in
urban areas. 62cr people were non working (non-workers) and 40cr people were
working (workers) in the whole country. In urban areas, non-workers were 19cr
against 9cr workers. As compared to it,
In rural areas there were 31cr workers out of 74cr rural population. Represent

Q4. In a sample study about the coffee habits in two towns-
the following info was received:
TOWN A: Females were 40%, total coffee drinkers were 45% and
male non coffee drinkers were 20%.

55%, male non-coffee drinkers were 30% female coffee drinkers were 15%
